I'm BaaaAAAAaaaaackkk.......
Is it possible? Could it be? Am I really sitting here, on a Friday night, POSTING a blog? It can't be... it's only been since NOVEMBER that I last updated. And here I am, on a Friday night, reading blogs, posting blogs, and feeling almost normal again. Normal. Routine. Free Time. These words have been out of my vocabulary for what seems like a lifetime. Recently, however, God has decided to shine down from above and bless me with a little girl who will now talk herself to sleep for nap time and who actually goes to sleep and STAYS asleep at a decent hour of the night. What does this mean? ONE. HAPPY. MAMA. THAT'S what it means. I have been able to finish TWO books for book club, tonight I am reading blogs I haven't looked at in ages, and look.... I'm actually posting. Problem is, you (you, as in, the few, select, I-can-count-on-one-hand group of peeps who used to actually follow me or check back every now and then) probably will never read this since I'm sure you've all moved on to bigger and better things. I can't say I blame you. However, if you're reading this, then I know you're still here for some reason, so I better make this a good one! I guess I'll make it about the best part of my life: Obviously, Emerson. Below are her 9 month pics...I can NOT believe next week will be 10 months! Enjoy and feel free to comment!
I love this pic! Emme is always busy, and this shot has me wondering what her busy little brain is conjuring up. She is SO SMART, and I'm not just saying that because that's what all Mamas say... she truly is amazingly intelligent. I'm so glad she got my genes... ;)
I love the pictures my friend, Julie, took of us reading Emme's favorite book. Emerson is obsessed with her 'Touch and Feel Animals' book. She has to touch every page, but it's more of a quick slap rather than a gentle touch. Imagine how our cats feel... Emme is NOT a dainty flower; she is rough and ready to rumble! I love how much she loves animals. Whether in books, tv, or in real life, she just beams when she sees any living thing. Definitely like her Mama. I'm waiting for the days where she brings in every stray she finds. I rescued everything from bunnies, to cats, to caterpillars... I hope Barry is prepared to run a zoo, because I can't say 'no'! (Ugh, on a side note, I totally need a haircut....)
Ugh. She melts my heart. She is such a sweetie and has the best temperment. I could not ask for a better babe.
Emerson has grown SO MUCH in the past few months. It seems like at 7 months she just took off and has become more and more 'Emme' every day. She definitely is her own unique person, and I love every bit of her. She is a total snuggler, and today she started hugging and snuggling my arm while I change her. I love it. And I love that I'm able to be with her and take the time to let her snuggle and hug my arm. With Emerson, time stands still....and yet flies by so fast! I'm indulging in and cherishing every minute with her and I love watching her become the person she was meant to be.
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!!!!
ReplyDeleteI am so happy that all three of my daughters have been able to be stay-at-home moms and run a business and be just such wonderful women! Love each and every one of my grandchildren so much I could burst!
ReplyDeleteOMG she is sooooo gorgeous! I love that pic of the 2 of you.
ReplyDeleteHow on Earth did you get this sleep thing down? Can I send Peanut to you for fixing? :P
Hey Dandy!
ReplyDeleteCan I just say, I haven't read many blogs in a LONG time, but I religiously read yours and am CONSTANTLY showing off Peanut. I think he is the CUTEST baby (boy) EVER! As far as sleep.... she started sleeping through the night pretty early, but then she got a cold and started cutting teeth, and it's been a nightmare for the past few months. Within the past two weeks, she just started back to a routine and it is WONDERFUL! I now just listen to her cues. If she's tired, I let her sleep. If she's hungry, I feed her. She kind of set her own routine, and I've learned to go with her schedule and work around mine! Ha! Things will all fall into place. I PROMISE!
AWESOME You are back!! Yay!!! Great post! Emme's a doll!!!
