Because it's Wednesday

Because it's Wednesday, and because I need a break from... well... everything, I'm doing a post of randomness...

1. I'm UBER EXCITED for book club(s). Last spring, my bestie Brooke started a book club. Really, it's just an excuse to get together and drink and gossip, but we really do discuss the book... for about a minute or two... It gives us a few hours to escape life and just be giddy, gossipy girls. My mother aka Musder also started a book club a few months ago. This club is unique in that, well, we actually READ AND DISCUSS the book. Imagine that! AND... we also have to bring a recipe to share that was inspired by the book. If you know me, you know I love to eat. This club is right up my alley! Our first book, Little Bee, was set in Africa and England. We had everything from an African banana dish to Earle Gray Tea cupcakes! Our second book, Snowflower and the Secret Fan, was set in China. Mmmm.... Conchee, fried rice, Shanghai Chicken.... mmmmm.... NOW, for the exciting part: We just read The Help, which is set in the deep heart of Mississippi in the 50's. SOUTHERN SOUL FOOD!!!! Oh baby. I am making pinch biscuits and sausage gravy and a southern chocolate pie. I can't wait!!!

2. I've been on a mean clean streak lately... and the house is still cluttered. How does this happen?

3. I've always been a firm believer that nothing is to ever go INTO your butthole. Things are meant to come OUT, not IN. There are a lot of things I believed firmly in but have changed since Emme came along. Like mommy lick baths. Ew. But they are sometimes necessary, as was our adventure with a q-tip today. You tell me that when your wee one doesn't poo in over 5 days and is screaming in pain that you won't swab that hole with some vaseline. And it worked. It worked REALLY well. Like, massive explosions well. The things you do for your kids...

4. I am obsessed with Hellcats. Ok, maybe not obsessed, but its a new favorite on my Wednesday night line up.

5. I am truly obsessed with Raising Hope. Truly obsessed. There are so many things wrong with that show that it just seems right. I love it. And the baby... OMG! SOOOOO cute!

6. I'm thinking of joining a cookie exchange this year. Do I have time for this???

7. My calendar is FILLING with party dates for Tastefully Simple. I absolutely LOVE having my own TS business. I've met so many new people and I get to go out and party for a living. It's one of the best decisions I've made!

8. I've been cooking up a storm. In the past few days I've made chili, Indian chicken, Ravioli and Vodka sauce, corn bread, boneless spare ribs, baked corn, sweet potato wedges, and so much more. I love my kitchen challenge and have had a lot of fun getting creative. Friday I hope to make a chilled corn and bacon soup. Yum!

9. We had a GREAT Halloween! Emme made the most adorable kitty!

10. I can't wait until Thanksgiving. I need a break. And turkey. I totally need some turkey.
