Countin' down the days...

It's hard to believe that only 9 months ago, Barry and I were celebrating an exciting 9 months of anticipation and surprises! And now...
Here we are! The past 9 months have FLOWN, but at the same time, they couldn't have gone fast enough. And now, as we approach 38 weeks, we are facing the end. Or is it the beginning?
Barry and I found out last Wednesday that Emerson is breech, or flipped upside down. Apparantly her head is really wedged, and though my doctor is the self-proclaimed "best flipper there is", she didn't seem too hopeful that manually turning her will work. So, this Wednesday we will see where she is. Is she stubborn like her parents? Let's hope not! We both are pretty bull headed, and adding a third bull to the pen may create havoc in our household! Hopefully she'll give in and flip on her own, but if not, we may be scheduling the 'big C' for either the 17th or the 24th. Which means.... THIS MAY BE OUR LAST WEEK AS BEX AND TEX! It will be totally weird being a threesome rather than a couple, but I can't wait!
So, knowing that I may be a little more immobile than I had anticipated, I need to get some more cooking and cleaning done. Thank GOD I cooked up a storm the other week and froze it all. Barry can barely manage a grilled cheese, though he is getting better, but if I didn't plan ahead for some heat and eat meals, we'd be the pizza man's favorite people for a few weeks!
Though I feel like I've been working my butt off getting the house ready and making sure everything else is taken care of, I feel like 20 things get added to my list each day. Now I have to make sure everything is ready for my sub to take over for school, make some more food, give the house another scrub, and get all the laundry done. Any volunteers want to help?!?!
Fortunately, I have completed my Master's Degree (WOO HOO!) and don't have to worry about classes anymore, I have a fantastic person taking over for me when I take off work, and I have the best friends and family who are anxious for Emme to arrive. (Shout out to Amber and Julie for bringing me milkshakes on Friday!)
The birthing class is done, the nursery is ready, the car seat will be in place tomorrow, and the hospital bag is packed. (And stuffed with food for Barry!) Emerson, if you're listening, you can come any time now!

  1. Becky! Don't worry, everything will work out for the best and if you have the C-section it all goes away when you see that sweet baby being held out in front of your eyes and before you know it, you're back in the room with her in your arms!!! I'll cook you some food and I'm sure your big sis Annisa and Mama won't let you starve!! Can't wait...I had 4 Cs, not so bad so you can do it! Can't wait to meet her!! And if you have the C I'll bring you a choc milkshake in the hospital too!!

  2. You're too much Julie! Thank you for all the support and good wishes. I appreciate your friendship and kindness. I know it will go ok; everything works out in the end, especially if you have a chocolate milkshake to help you get through it! ;)

  3. Ahhh! You look adorable!! I hope I look like you. There is so much to do but you sound so prepared. Good luck with Emerson... is she stubborn like her parents made me laugh.

PS About the diapers... I wouldn't let the ones you got go to waste but if you are interested in an alternative you can check out things like gDiapers. They have flushable inserts... so no throwing them in the wash!
